SB 80- effective July 1, 2006
Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead contact this office by phone or in writing.
The City of Cape Coral is committed to preserving your privacy and security while viewing our Web site.
We do not capture personal information without visitors' permission.
The
only time we ask for personal information is when you are asked to register for
various “E-Services” such as paying for Utility Bills, renewing Business
Licenses, or entering Requests for Service or Complaints, for example. We ask
only for the minimum amount of information required to communicate with you or
to process transactions. When paying for services, for example, you will be
required to provide credit card information. Your online payment transactions
are supported by industry standard SSL based encryption. When requesting
service, we provide you the opportunity to receive feedback by providing us
with email addresses and/or telephone numbers. Where feasible, we also provide
the ability to enter data anonymously, for example when registering complaints.
In this case, however, we will not be able to communicate responses directly to
you via email or phone.

Sending Us Personal Information & Disclosure of Information
If you choose to provide us
with personal information -- as in an email to City staff, or by filling out a
form with your personal information and submitting it to us through our web
site -- we use that information to respond to your message and to help us get
you the information you have requested. We treat emails the same way we treat
letters sent to the City offices. We are required to maintain many documents
for historical purposes, but we do not collect personal information for any
purpose other than to respond to you. However, information we receive may
be considered public information which is subject to disclosure under Florida law.
Except for information disclosure required by Florida law, we only share the information
you give us with another government agency, if your inquiry relates to that
agency. Moreover, we do not create individual profiles with the information you
provide, or provide such information to any private organizations. We do not
collect information for commercial marketing.
online Payments & Related Transactions
Ensuring that your online experience is secure is a high priority. Your information security
is of the utmost importance, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to
ensure that your personal information is safeguarded.
Your online
payment transactions are supported by industry-standard data encryption
available through your browser called SSL encryption. These services are
designed to ensure the privacy of your credit card information, name, address,
email and other information you provide to us. |
