The City of Cape Coral has a voluntary lot mowing program to maintain the large number of vacant lots in the city. Property owners can enroll in the program and pay a nominal fee for seven mows per year.
The City's contractor uses large, industrial mowing equipment to clear the vacant properties. They do not trim and edge the lots to the same degree as a private homeowner may maintain his/her property. Their equipment is designed to do as large an area as possible in the shortest amount of time. However, certain conditions may affect their ability to complete the work. Trash, rocks, yard waste, holes, parked cars and boats will hinder the work and result in a less than desired final outcome. Please follow the City codes and do not leave debris or vehicles on vacant lots.
If you have any questions or concerns about vacant lots in the city, please call our Citizen's Action Center at 574-0425, or use our online Center to report a problem or issue. |
