Environmental Resources

The Environmental Resources Section helps the City of Cape Coral manage its wealth of natural resources. Our section works closely with civic volunteers (the Canalwatch team) to monitor the environmental integrity of Cape Coral’s 400-mile canal network. (Click here to view information on the Canal Watch Program) The staff also provides scientific and technical support to the City’s environmental regulatory activities. Public education is another cornerstone of our mission.

Our public seminars such as the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods program give residents the information they need to protect Cape Coral's environmental assets.  Additional information is contained in the Canal Owner’s Manual.  The Canal Owner’s Manual is available, free of charge, at City Hall and the City/County Building.

If you would like additional information on Cape Coral’s natural resources, our speaker’s bureau, or the Canalwatch volunteer program, please call (239) 574-0745 or  (239) 574-0746.
