For Workers
For Employers
Through special funding this year, the City Council has approved major Economic Development research projects that will guide the development of a new 5-year business development plan -- one that will help many existing businesses to grow, and also help the city attract new companies that provide higher paying jobs in new business sectors.
The research is being conducted in the next few weeks by contractors who were selected through the City's RFP process. They will be reaching into the community -- with telephone calls, internet questionnaires, and one-on-one meetings -- to learn from businesses and workers what they think would be best for our City.
We encourage you to participate in all of these research activities. Sometimes the best ideas come from the least expected sources. If you are called, please give us your thoughts. If you are invited to a meeting, take the opportunity to attend. And above all, please log-on and answer the on-line surveys. Most of the research projects are truly global -- with information to be gathered from other states and even other nations. But our City's input is essential.
Everyone wants to know that the survey they're taking is genuine and that their answers will be confidential. Here is a list of the research projects that will be taking place in the upcoming weeks, as well as the companies conducting the studies. All responses are confidential:
